Dr. Mohammed Akl received his dental degree from the University of Sharjah College of Dental Medicine. After a year of practicing general dentistry, he traveled to the United States to pursue further training in esthetic, implant, and restorative dentistry. Dr. Akl joined the specialty training program in Prosthodontics at the University of Minnesota where he graduated with a Diploma in Prosthodontics and a Master of Science degree. The advanced training program focused on esthetic makeovers, implant surgery and fixed, removable, and implant prosthetics. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is eligible for certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics.
Dr. Akl is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He is passionate about digital dentistry and using digital technology to enhance patient care which allows him to create precise, predictable, and personalized end results that are tailored to every case. Dr. Akl is the former Director of Digital Education at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and remains actively involved with the school and the Division of Prosthodontics as an adjunct faculty member. He is currently practicing full time and sees patients at Apple Tree Dental.
Dr. Akl has lectured nationally and internationally on various topics of digitally augmented prosthodontics. His current clinical and research interests are focused on esthetic dentistry, color science, digital dentistry and complex reconstructions.
